Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:


The Processing Engineer is responsible for design, development, and trial run process and machines test for new products to make sure the process and machine setting points are properly set to reach desired quality and target efficiency while ensuring safety compliance.

The responsibility also includes continuous improvement of current process line to meet process efficiency, yield as costing target and support troubleshoot any issue related to process design.

This role involves close collaboration with both internal and external customers, R&D, production, and finance teams. Some projects may need to lead as project managers to control overall project action list and timeline.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties as assigned:


  • Design & Implementation: Develop, configure, and install new manufacturing processes, equipment, and workflows of new project until hand on properly to operation.
  • Lead trial run process and machine to find properly machine and process setting point
  • Process Optimization and Continuous improvement: Analyze manufacturing data (throughput, yield, variance) to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Project Management: Lead or support projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Coordinate project between each party including external customer.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to resolve production, equipment, and quality issues
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with health, safety, and industry regulations


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering, a related field, or a relevant science degree
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in food manufacturing
  • Ability to work in manufacturing facilities to test, troubleshoot, and lead trial run
  • Working location in Jackson plant, Ohio or Columbus Ohio
  • Ability to travel if needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and continuous improvement skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, operations management, industrial staff, and vendors.
  • Data analysis skill able to use Excel or Minitab for statistical analysis
  • Able to utilize CAD software tool for processing, line layout design
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies, and work independently.
  • Understand manufacturing cost and variance related to process efficiency
  • Strong project management skills
