Role Overview:

H.I.G. Capital is seeking a Network/Systems Administration Intern to join our IT team in Coral Gables, FL. This is a part-time, six-month internship with the possibility of extension and is 100% onsite.

The role operates within standard business hours (9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.) and requires a minimum of 20 hours per week; we are happy to accommodate your academic schedule. The successful candidate will support a fast-paced, high-volume help desk environment and must be a self-starter with strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine interest in systems and network administration.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Determines root cause of IT related issues and troubleshoots providing technical expertise with accurate and timely solutions to ensure personnel satisfaction and productivity.

  • Perform software and hardware installations as necessary.

  • Troubleshoot wireless and wired networking issues.

  • Provide first level support using networking tools.

  • Software and Hardware deployment in an enterprise environment.

  • Remote access IT assets to provide support or troubleshoot issues.

  • Administer mobile device management.

  • Update systems and network documentation

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a college degree program (Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar degree highly preferred).

  • The ideal candidate must possess a positive can-do attitude that thrives on meeting deadlines, a solid work ethic and a desire to learn as well as be part of a team.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Developed problem solving skills including the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical users.

  • Strong understanding of Windows 10/11 desktop support and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Basic networking knowledge including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP protocols.
