About the Role

The Global Sourcing team is responsible for all direct procurement associated with our Hardware. Our scope includes all aspects of cost management from FATP to sub-tier supply chain suppliers as well as testing, certification, OPEX and CAPEX. Additionally we are the primary commercial relationship owner and manage all contracts. We leverage a fast paced dynamic development environment with first generation products typically moving from concept to customer delivery quickly. Many work streams are done in parallel across all teams to ensure high quality products are brought to market as soon as possible.
As a Global Sourcing Specialist Intern, you will support direct sourcing strategy and execution for a product line. This includes negotiating contracts, costs (BOM, MVA, Capex, Opex) for both system level and some individual commodities. You will interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders to bring products to market including finding, qualifying, and managing suppliers. We are committed to a thriving in-office culture. This role requires that you be on-site at our office in San Mateo, CA 5 days a week.

What You'll Do
  • Support senior sourcing members with end to end hardware sourcing responsibilities for Verkada Product Line(s) during NPI and MP phases
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, etc. for various aspects of operation including cost management and margin analysis.
  • Find and manage suppliers including relationship management, audits, and onboarding
  • Collaborate with and influence cross functional teams to deliver new products
What You Bring
  • BS/MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Internship experience delivering results on challenging hardware operations challenges
  • Comfortable working across different time zones and attend meetings outside of traditional business hours
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Must be willing and able to commute 5 days in office.
  • Must be able to stay at internship for 6+ months (September - April or January - August terms).
