Job description

Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
The Print Production (Machine) Operator is responsible for producing printed orders in the most efficient manner, maximizing time while minimizing waste; setting up various types of equipment including a flexographic press, rewinding and finishing equipment in order to produce quality product that meets production and customer specifications; making adjustments to speed, tension, ink, viscosities, etc. as needed to achieve high standards.
Print Production (Machine) Operator Essential Functions:
• Assists with various stages of the label and finishing process
• Sets up and prints label jobs on printing press with minimal waste in a specific priority order determined by Supervisor
• Rewinds printed product to meet finishing and quality standards
• Completes daily score sheets by recording the amount and type of work performed
• Maintains press and other equipment
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
Print Production (Machine) Operator Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent. May include specialized classes beyond high school
• Has proficient understanding of principles in one or more functions. Typically possesses 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to read, interpret and create simple correspondence and memos
• Knowledge of mechanics and hazard communication standards and material safety data sheets
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Properly uses safety gear, including ear protection, glasses, back-support belt and safety shoes as required or recommended
• Performs single function tasks that tend to be of moderate size and scope
Print Production (Machine) Operator Physical Requirements
• Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions including but not limited to exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc. 21% to 50% of work time
• Incumbent constantly required to walk, stand, grasp, reach, push/pull, bend, stoop, twisting and use of manual dexterity for prolonged periods of time
• Incumbent regularly required to hear, speak, and use color vision
• Incumbent regularly required to carry and lift up to 50lbs.
• Work with rotating equipment, hazardous equipment, and safety sensitive equipment
• Must be able to visually inspect labels and materials for accuracy.
• Requires use of PPE and tolerance for manufacturing environment.
