Job description

At Spartan Graphics the Print Production Manager plays a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence across our print production facility. This position oversees all daily print operations and leads production teams to deliver high-quality printed materials efficiently, safely, and on schedule.

The Print Production Manager is responsible for managing Prepress, Offset Press, and Digital Print Operations, ensuring optimal use of resources, strong quality control, and continuous improvement across all production areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on leadership and direct supervision of the Printing Department, including daily scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation
  • Oversee all production activities across Prepress, Offset Press, Digital, and Large Format operations
  • Collaborate with production teams to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve efficiency and throughput
  • Establish, enforce, and continuously improve quality control standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and that preventive maintenance schedules are followed
  • Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and ensure compliance with all safety procedures
  • Lead, coach, and develop production team members through training, feedback, and performance management
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and improvement-driven work environment
  • Partner with HR on performance reviews, disciplinary actions, compliance matters, and employee development
  • Coordinate production reporting, data collection, physical inventory, and documentation
  • Uphold strong internal and external customer service standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support business needs

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of print production management experience
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of Offset Printing, Digital Printing, and Large Format Printing
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, scheduling, and process optimization
  • Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance operational demands with people leadership and quality standards
