Production Lead - Print Manufacturing, Los Angeles


O’Neil Digital Solutions is hiring a Production Lead - Print Manufacturing, Los Angeles for our 2nd shift production team. We are a large-scale print manufacturing company serving Fortune 25 healthcare organizations and Fortune 500 financial services companies. The Production Lead - Print Manufacturing, Los Angeles position is responsible for leading day-to-day production operations, supporting print manufacturing workflow, coordinating staffing and scheduling needs, maintaining quality standards, training employees, and ensuring production deadlines are met. This role is ideal for an experienced print manufacturing professional, production lead, manufacturing lead, shift lead, or print production supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Procurement experience is preferred but not required.


Work Schedule

Shift: 2nd Shift
Hours: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, +OT as needed
Days: Monday through Friday
Overtime: Must be able to work overtime as needed

What You’ll Do

As a Production Lead - Print Manufacturing, Los Angeles, you will provide leadership, guidance, and hands-on support to employees within the assigned production shift. You will help ensure print production jobs are completed accurately, safely, efficiently, and on time.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day production operations during the assigned shift
  • Direct employee activities to ensure clear communication, accurate workflow, and seamless operations
  • Ensure team members follow all production processes, procedures, priorities, and quality requirements
  • Help meet customer deadlines, SLA requirements, quality standards, and productivity goals
  • Understand and monitor the full print production workflow
  • Assess workload and determine when additional resources are needed
  • Distribute work based on employee knowledge, skill level, and production priorities
  • Read, understand, and prioritize job tickets by due date and production specifications
  • Confirm that all job components, materials, and production requirements are available and properly located
  • Ensure all required sign-offs, shift reports, and production documentation are completed accurately
  • Communicate effectively with other shift leads during shift changeovers
  • Train employees on PHI recycling and secure handling procedures
  • Assist in training helpers, new employees, and existing team members on production operations and machinery
  • Support machine operators by reviewing job requirements, securing materials, and assisting with efficient setup
  • Develop and support continuous improvement initiatives within the production department
  • Promote employee efficiency, teamwork, accountability, and morale through positive leadership
  • Ensure safe working conditions and enforce company safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct visual checks of machinery and escalate equipment issues to leadership or maintenance
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Production Lead - Print Manufacturing, Los Angeles role will have hands-on print manufacturing experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage production priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or professional experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years of related print manufacturing experience
  • Basic matching, printing, production, and assembly skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Strong basic mathematical skills
  • Computer literacy, including the ability to work with file structures, fulfillment tasks, reports, and information lookup tools
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to perform work with honesty, integrity, accuracy, and accountability


Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience, team lead experience, or shift lead experience
  • Procurement experience
  • Experience in print production, mail production, fulfillment, bindery, assembly, digital print, commercial print, or high-volume manufacturing
  • Experience supporting quality control, production scheduling, staffing, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
