Description:

Are you an experienced production or print finishing professional looking for your next opportunity? At Mittera Wisconsin, weโ€™re seeking a Perfect Binder Assistant Operator (Cover Feeder) on 2nd shift to support our finishing operation and keep our perfect binder running smoothly and efficiently. In this role, youโ€™ll play a key part in keeping production moving by supplying and loading covers, verifying material accuracy, and monitoring inventory to help prevent downtime. Youโ€™ll work closely with the Binder Operator to support setup, changeovers, quality checks, and day-to-day production flow. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in being a critical part of a high-performing finishing team.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load and replenish covers into the Perfect Binder feeder system to maintain continuous production.
  • Verify cover materials against job tickets and production specifications to ensure correct stock is used.
  • Inspect covers for defects, damage, print quality issues, and proper orientation before loading.
  • Monitor cover feed performance and promptly notify the Binder Operator of any issues that may impact production or quality.
  • Assist with machine setups, make-readies, and job changeovers as directed by the Binder Operator.
  • Remove and properly document waste, spoilage, and unused materials according to company procedures.
  • Stage materials and supplies needed for upcoming jobs to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with packing, labeling, palletizing, and moving finished products as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate effectively with operators, helpers, supervisors, and other departments to support production goals.
  • Participate in quality checks and inspections to ensure finished products meet customer specifications.
  • Assist with routine cleaning and preventive maintenance activities on the binder as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Previous manufacturing, printing, bindery, or production experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets, work instructions, and production schedules.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending
  • Pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
