Summary:

The Printing Manager is responsible for leading all flexographic printing operations within Mondi's multiwall bag manufacturing process. This role oversees pressroom personnel, printing equipment, and prepress systems to ensure high-quality graphic reproduction, operational efficiency, and safe production.

Reporting to the Director of Operations / Production Manager, the Printing Manager partners closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Scheduling teams to deliver consistent print quality, optimize performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Mission:

Drive operational excellence in printing by ensuring high-quality output, maximizing press efficiency, and leading a strong safety and performance culture across printing operations.

Lead daily flexographic printing operations for multiwall bag production
Ensure printed materials meet customer artwork specifications and color standards
Oversee press setup including plate mounting, anilox selection, ink systems, and drying controls
Optimize press speeds while maintaining consistent quality and minimizing waste
Monitor press performance, registration accuracy, and color consistency
Reduce downtime through proactive troubleshooting and coordination with maintenance
Improve changeover efficiency and drive waste reduction initiatives
Oversee plate imaging and prepress workflows to ensure accurate graphic reproduction
Manage photopolymer plate production and mounting processes
Partner with Quality to reduce defects (color variation, misregistration, ink adhesion, plate wear)
Track and improve key metrics including uptime, scrap rates, and production output
Lead and develop press operators, assistants, and graphics technicians
Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives within the printing department
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements

 

Your Profile:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts, Printing Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
5-10 years of experience in flexographic printing operations
Experience in packaging or multiwall bag manufacturing preferred
Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong expertise in flexographic printing processes and color management
Experience with plate imaging, prepress workflows, and ink systems
Knowledge of production performance metrics and continuous improvement methods (Lean)
Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and drive operational improvements
Strong leadership and team development capabilities
