Job description

The Print Press Assistant is responsible for assisting the Print Press Operator with all tasks at the print press in BSG.  The Print Press Assistant will help to execute all day-to-day tasks at their designated print press. Qualified candidates must be comfortable in a production oriented, fast paced environment that changes frequently and requires significant multi-tasking abilities.  The Print Press Assistant reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

Job Duties: 

  • Helps to ensure timely completion of all production orders at their press
  • Work with print press operator and production planner to make sure all orders have the necessary items to be completed accordingly at their press
  • Communicate any issues that will slow down production with the appropriate departments and leaders
  • Help to execute fast and effective screen setups
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with various departments within BSG
  • Help monitor and manage supplies at their press (Ink, Screens, Emulsions, etc.)
  • Help contribute to a safety culture in the BSG production room
  • Help to ensure strong quality control processes at the print press
  • Help to drive productivity and efficiency at the press
  • Make sure press is maintained properly, report any issues to  a leader or a maintenance crew member
  • Make sure water-based inks are properly scrapped off screens and tolls, and they are rinsed off properly
  • Help to ensure production order compliance at the press
  • Key partner to the print press operator to communicate feedback and help troubleshoot
  • Contribute to the flawless execution of print production procedures at the press
  • Perform other functions and activities as directed by the production supervisor and print press operator

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Screen printing or screen making experience preferred.
  • Experience with print production inks desired.
  • Excellent verbal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Able to simultaneously execute a high level of detail
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to use independent judgment effectively
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility and quickly adapt to changes while maintaining high levels of productivity
  • Able to work well within a team environment, offering assistance and support to team members when necessary
  • Able to work weekends and possible holidays
  • Able to work 7AM to 4PM and longer if necessary

Bilingual in Spanish preferred
