Job description

Become a part of our caring community
The Principal Solutions Strategist works with user groups to solve business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals. The Principal Solutions Strategist provides strategic advice and guidance to functional team(s). Highly skilled with broad, advanced technical experience.

The Principal Solutions Strategist will serve as a strategic leader driving the development and execution of a comprehensive data strategy that shapes the future of Finance operations and supports critical decision-making across the enterprise. In this high-impact role, you will collaborate with business and technology leaders. You will architect, integrate, and optimize modern data platforms, leveraging Azure Data Explorer, Azure Data Factory, Event Hubs, Data Lake Storage, and Databricks. This will enable advanced analytics and operational excellence. A strong command of Oracle Fusion and/or ERP best practices is essential, including deep familiarity with financial close, reporting, and other critical finance processes to ensure solutions are grounded in real operational needs and industry standards. As a trusted advisor, you'll partner with stakeholders and executives to align data solutions with business priorities and regulatory standards, playing a pivotal role in Finance Technology Modernization. Enjoy high visibility, opportunities for mentorship, and the chance to champion best practices within a Fortune 100 healthcare organization.

This role sits within the Corporate Services team in the Technical organization and partners closely with the Data and Transformation team within the Finance organization. It is a technology led position, responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive data strategy that advances Finance outcomes while maintaining clear ownership within IT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end functional solution strategy for Finance technology, ensuring that business processes are fully supported across applications, data, interfaces, and reporting.
  • Ensure clear, end-to-end data and process flows across ERP (Oracle Cloud Fusion or similar), Workday HCM/payroll, insurance platforms (Medicare and Medicaid), claims, pharmacy, clinical systems, and downstream analytics.
  • Define and enforce rules for systems of record and systems of truth for all major financial data domains, ensuring consistency and preventing duplication across platforms.
  • Identify and eliminate redundant data flows, overlapping functionality, and unnecessary integrations that increase operational risk and maintenance overhead.
  • Partner with Finance functional leaders and business analysts to understand end-to-end business intent, while remaining distinct from detailed requirements definition.
  • Partner with technical architects and engineering teams to guide solution design without owning component-level technical architecture.
  • Ensure integrations, reports, and data pipelines are designed holistically to reduce failure points, improve resiliency, and support auditability and compliance.
  • Lead solution decisions that prioritize simplification, standardization, and use of out-of-the-box platform capabilities over custom-built solutions.
  • Document and maintain current- and future-state end-to-end Finance solution views that span processes, systems, data, and reporting.
  • Continuously assess the health of Finance technology ecosystems and identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Strategic & Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the primary integrator role across Finance, IT, Data, and Analytics organizations to ensure cohesive, end-to-end outcomes.
  • Influence enterprise technology and platform roadmaps by representing end-to-end Finance process and data needs.
  • Provide oversight to ensure solutions adhere to enterprise standards for data governance, security, privacy, and compliance (e.g., SOX, HIPAA).
  • Evaluate new ERP, Finance, and data platform capabilities delivered through regular cloud releases and guide adoption decisions based on end-to-end impact.
  • Promote a mindset of enterprise thinking, focusing on long-term sustainability rather than point solutions.
  • Mentor senior technologists on end-to-end, process-oriented solution thinking.

Use your skills to make an impact

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT, solution strategy, architecture, or technology leadership roles.
  • Strong functional understanding of Finance processes combined with the ability to translate them into end-to-end system and data solutions.
  • Experience working across ERP platforms (Oracle Cloud Fusion or similar), HCM/payroll, and enterprise data and analytics ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and govern systems of record, data ownership, and integration patterns.
  • Ability to operate effectively between business and technical teams without duplicating the role of functional analysts or technical architects.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, with the ability to guide decisions across senior Finance and IT leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting healthcare payer environments including Medicare, Medicaid, claims, pharmacy, and clinical systems.
  • Background in enterprise solution strategy, business architecture, or large-scale Finance transformation initiatives.
  • Experience operating in complex, matrixed organizations with multiple delivery teams and platforms.
