We are dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality dental care to patients who need it most. Our clinic focuses on emergency dental treatment, extractions, oral surgery procedures, dentures, and access-to-care dentistry for Virginia Medicaid and cash-pay patients.
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and results-oriented Practice Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of a fast-paced, high-volume dental practice. Position Summary
As a Practice Manager, you will ensure the efficient operation of a fast-paced dental office and lead a successful team that consistently meets and exceeds patient, practice, and organizational expectations. You will be responsible for team leadership, patient experience, operational excellence, financial performance, and compliance while supporting a mission focused on serving Medicaid and cash-pay patients.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Culture
  • Conduct regular team huddles to promote communication, alignment, and accountability.
  • Foster open communication by providing organizational updates, practice goals, and ongoing staff development.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members.
  • Build and nurture positive working relationships with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff.
  • Create a culture centered on patient care, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Operations & Compliance
  • Ensure efficient day-to-day operations and patient flow in a high-volume practice environment.
  • Stay current with OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, infection control, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS, and infection control training as required by law.
  • Monitor schedules, productivity, and clinic performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Virginia Medicaid and company policies.

Growth & Patient Experience
  • Champion exceptional patient service and satisfaction.
  • Support new patient growth through community outreach and marketing initiatives.
  • Help patients navigate treatment options, financial arrangements, and access to care.
  • Resolve patient concerns professionally and compassionately.

Financial Performance
  • Ensure the practice is meeting production, collection, and profitability goals.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and develop action plans to address areas of concern.
  • Support Medicaid and cash-pay workflows to maximize efficiency and patient access.
  • Assist in budgeting, expense management, and operational planning.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma required; college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of dental management experience.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS, and infection control certifications as required.
  • Proficiency with computers and dental practice management software.

Preferred
  • Experience with Open Dental practice management software.
  • Experience with DentaQuest Medicaid administration and claims processing.
  • Strong understanding of Virginia Medicaid dental programs.
  • Experience managing oral surgery, extraction-focused, or denture practices.
  • Knowledge of treatment planning, insurance verification, and revenue cycle management.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply.
