How to become a practice manager?

Career: Practice Manager

If you want to become a practice manager, you should pursue a bachelor's degree in healthcare management, administration, or nursing. The American Academy of Professional Coders also offers a Certified Physician Practice Manager credential. Most employers prefer candidates to have prior experience in leadership or administration roles, as well as a background in a medical setting. You must be familiar with healthcare procedures and terminology, and you should stay current on HIPAA updates. If you handle the office financial duties, you need basic accounting knowledge as well. Additional qualifications include excellent customer service skills, organization, the ability to multitask, and problem-solving skills.
