Primary Care Physician

Role Summary

The Staff Physician at Lower Lights Christian Health Center provides high-quality, patient-centered primary care across LLCHC's clinic locations. This role delivers comprehensive outpatient medical services, integrates whole-person care, and ensures excellence in clinical quality, safety, and compassion. As a member of an interdisciplinary care team, the physician supports LLCHC's mission to provide holistic, Christ-centered health care to all patients, regardless of ability to pay. The Staff Physician also contributes to quality improvement, population health initiatives, community outreach, and team leadership to help strengthen LLCHC's clinical operations and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, chronic disease management, preventive care, and health education.
  • Maintain clinical documentation in the electronic health record according to LLCHC standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on diagnostics, referrals, medication management, and patient inquiries.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support patient needs outside regular clinic hours.
  • Deliver care consistent with evidence-based guidelines, LLCHC protocols, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support population health efforts, care gap closures, and value-based care initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, medical assistants, behavioral health providers, dental providers, dietitians, case managers, and spiritual care staff as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Serve as a collaborating physician for advanced practice providers, including participation in standard-of-care agreements and clinical oversight as appropriate.
  • Contribute to a culture of respect, teamwork, and whole-person care.
  • Model LLCHC's mission and values in daily practice and interactions.
  • Participate in provider meetings, staff meetings, trainings, and assigned committees to support clinical operations and ongoing improvement.
  • Promote LLCHC in the community and support outreach efforts as needed.
  • Engage in mentoring, coaching, and supporting clinical staff and learners (students/residents), as applicable.
  • Use clinic time effectively to support access, continuity, and financial sustainability.
  • Uphold organizational policies, compliance standards, and ethical medical practice.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer or leadership team.

Qualifications

  • Board certification in the relevant specialty
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with telemedicine services
  • Current and unrestricted state license to practice as a Psych NP, PA (CAQ-Psych), or PA-C
  • Current BLS certification (ACLS and PALS preferred).
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving diverse, underserved, or vulnerable populations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a team-oriented approach.
