Job Description:ย 

The Post Production Assistant is an entry-level post-production position that helps with the ingest and egress of media files among ZEALOTS various internal and external systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely ingestion and export of various media files, ensuring the files are organized, labeled correctly, and free from errors.ย 

The position will also assist with light-weight editorial needs such as transcribing and Premier project organization, andย ย 

ย 

Responsibilities:

  • Handle ingest, link creation, and posting requests from Associate Producers (APs), Producers, CDs, Finishing, etc.
  • Manage and prioritize client media download requests, including ingesting media into Zealotโ€™s environment, and ensure files are correct and named properly
  • Create and maintain documentation of client systems, processes, and logins to ensure quick and easy media retrieval/postingย 
  • Create transcription files and documents of features, episodes, etc. to assist Editors and Producers
  • Work with the Asset Manager to track and log all physical media deliveries, including external drives, flash drives, discs and tapes
  • Help Assistant Editors (AEs) and Finishing team as needed with media and coordination tasks such as YouTube rips, shotlist requests, etc.

KPIโ€™s:

  • Error-free postings and links โ€“ maintain a <5% error rate for all links and postings, including typos and incorrect slates
  • Adherence to SOPs โ€“ maintain a >95% adherence to Zealot and client platform SOPs, including naming conventions and folder structuresย 
  • Task Handoff -ย  Ensure clarity and reduce confusion by clearly communicating remaining tasks and to-dos at shift end with team members
ย 

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of MacOS and Computer Skills (Email, Messaging, Web Browsing, etc.)
  • Familiarity with:
    • Media file types (.mov, .mp4, .png, .jpg, etc.)
    • Video Codecs (h.264/h.265, ProRes, DnXHD, etc.)
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience with media delivery platforms (Aspera, Signiant, Pix, Box, etc.)
    • NLE Software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Da Vinci Resolve, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems on the fly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Information:
  • This position reports to the Post Production Manager
  • You must be able to make a daily commute 3 x per week to the NY office
  • Regular business hours are Mon-Fri 10am to 7pm.
  • The position is non-exempt (hourly) with a range of $20 to $25 per hour.ย This is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Actual offers may vary based on work experience
