Job Summary and Qualifications

Supervises and administers the facility Point-of-Care testing and department Quality Assurance programs under the direction of the department administrative and medical directors to meet patient care and regulatory agency requirements.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Medical Lab Scientist
  • Requires at least 4 years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Requires 2 years of Laboratory experience in point of care testing
  • Must meet the educational and /or work experience criteria acceptable for technical consultant as recognized by CLIA and GDHR.
  • (MLT-State) Medical Lab Technician - State, or (MLS) Medical Laboratory Scientist

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Works with facility and department leaders to implement new programs monitor performance, collect and evaluate performance data, develop corrective action plans, and assist in the training and education of personnel regarding Point-of-Care and Quality activities. Performs technical duties within the department as required.
  • Oversees orientation, in-service training, competency and continuing education of all person(s) in department.
  • Maintains and organizes inventory of supplies and reagents.
  • Supports the department Director in achieving department goals for service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, healthy work environment, and integration of intra and inter-departmental activities
