Shift Availability: Candidates must be willing to work between the hours of 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM, including coverage for a combination of the following shifts as needed:

  • 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
  • 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Job Summary: In a collaborative manner, the Paramedic provides support to Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologists, and patients through a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include front desk registration, vital sign collection, medical history intake, point-of-care testing, medication administration, and assisting with in-office procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and maintain a welcoming environment for patients through exceptional customer service.
  • Verify insurance information and collect/process co-payments and deductibles.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate provider referrals.
  • Secure patient information and maintain confidentiality through accurate medical recordkeeping and coding.
  • Conduct patient interviews, record medical history, and confirm visit purpose.
  • Prepare patients for exams by performing vital signs and reporting history summaries.
  • Assist providers with evaluations and in-office procedures; notify providers of abnormal findings.
  • Perform point-of-care testing for various conditions; conduct phlebotomy, wound care, and EKGs.
  • Administer medications per protocols approved by the local Medical Director.
  • Prepare for procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal.
  • Perform IV catheter insertion, fluid administration, splinting, and venipuncture.
  • Perform BLS emergency care and manage environmental emergencies.
  • Conduct daily equipment checks, calibrations, and submit repair tickets.
  • Perform courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated competency in EKG testing and venipuncture
  • Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Social perceptiveness and service orientation
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management software

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Experience with Point-of-Care Testing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 0–2+ years of Paramedic experience (3+ years preferred)
  • Pediatric care experience (preferred)
  • State Paramedic Certification (required upon hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at time of hire)
