Job description

Point of Care Testing (POCT) Coordinator – Houston, TX

TruBlu HR Solutions is seeking an experienced Point of Care Testing (POCT) Coordinator for a leading pediatric healthcare organization in the Houston area. This is a 13-week contract opportunity with the potential for extension or permanent hire for the right candidate.

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee Point of Care Testing (POCT) operations across multiple departments.
  • Evaluate, implement, and validate new testing methodologies, instrumentation, and procedures.
  • Monitor quality control, proficiency testing, inventory, compliance audits, and POCT information systems.
  • Maintain POCT data management systems, investigate operator and patient identification issues, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with laboratory leadership to standardize testing procedures and develop POCT policies.
  • Review and update POCT manuals and documentation.
  • Assist with special projects and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related laboratory, chemical, physical, or biological science.
  • Current MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) certification required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience.
  • Previous Point of Care Testing (POCT) experience
  • Experience with Telcor QML is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
