We are offering a $7,500 sign on bonus for this position (to be paid out over one year).

Rocky Point Care Center currently is accepting applications for the position of Certified Dietician for full-time positions. Rocky Point Care Center is a 90 bed, short-term rehabilitation facility located in Lakeport, California.

General Purpose

The Dietitian assesses the nutritional care of each patient and resident in the facility. The Dietitian advises the clinical team, dietary department, and facility leadership on the nutritional status of patients and residents including lab value interpretation, nutritional intake, consumption patterns, food/drug interactions, therapeutic diets, and overall customer satisfaction.

  • Evaluates the Medical Nutrition Therapy needs of patients/residents and implements appropriate interventions to improve their nutritional status.
  • Coordinates resident care with the Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Coordinates with the Dietary Supervisor/Manager/Director the review and customization of the regular and therapeutic menus.
  • Conducts meal rounds and interviews staff and residents to ensure residents are receiving foods in the amount, type, consistency, and frequency required to maintain or improve nutritional status.
  • Routinely inspects the food service area(s) and practices for compliance with facility policies, procedures, standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Participates in the long-term care survey process.
  • Provides in-service training to facility staff on topics related to Nutrition and Food service.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field.
  • Registered Dietitian or other license/certification as required for the state of hire.
  • One (1) year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred.
  • Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish this job.
  • Must have the ability to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with the other associates.
  • Must maintain regular attendance.
  • Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam, if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical and Sensory requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices): Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fine-hand coordination, pushing and pulling; ability to communicate with residents; ability to distinguish smells and temperatures; ability to read and write; and ability to remain calm under emergency situations and while dealing with multiple tasks.
