Job description

At NCSS, our 988 Lifeline program provides immediate, compassionate support to individuals in crisis. As one of only two 988 Lifeline centers in Vermont, we connect with people through phone, chat, and text ensuring no one has to navigate a crisis alone.
We're seeking a Team Leader who combines strong clinical skills with a collaborative leadership style. In this role, you'll lead a team that provides direct crisis support and guiding day-to-day operations of the 988 Lifeline program. You'll work closely with law enforcement, emergency responders, internal teams, and community partners to coordinate effective responses, while supporting and supervising staff and interns.
You'll also help ensure the program runs smoothly behind the scenes managing scheduling and coverage, reviewing documentation, supporting staff training and performance, and tracking data required by statewide partners. In collaboration with the Community Mental Health Services Division Director, you may also assist with broader program outcomes.
In this role, you will:
  • Provide 988 Lifeline support via phone, chat, and text
  • Help lead daily operations, including scheduling and team support
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff and interns
  • Collaborate with emergency services and community partners
  • Support quality assurance and required data tracking
  • May include covering 988 shifts - evenings and weekends - as needed.

Master's Degree
