About This Role

Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. The Back of House Manager will help organize and run our retail stores and fill in for the General Manager when needed. Your job will be highly important in ensuring the sales team meets its goals of efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Outlined below is what we see you doing at this point in time. We are a fast-growing company looking for people that are excited to grow along with us.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Ensuring the department's schedules and objectives are met by employees.

Assisting the General Manager in organizing, planning, and implementing strategy.

Track the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives.

Evaluate employee performance and identify hiring and training needs.

Supervise and motivate staff to perform their best.

Coach and support new and existing BOH Associates/ Supervisors.

Manage the physical inventory storage in compliance with CRA storage requirements.

Maintain active knowledge of incoming inventory and existing inventory levels on hand for General Manager and communicate needs.

Monitor all items shelf-life & create deals for near-expiration product and to mitigate excessive wasting out of expired products.

Provide hands-on training of inventory tracking system and inventory procedures for new and current employees.

Ensure daily cycle counts are being completed and results sent to compliance manager and General Manager.

Must resolve all count issues within 24 hours of taking cycle count with the guidance of compliance manager and chapter captain. Ensure all reconciliation is regularly completed including matching physical inventory to METRC inventory & Treez.

Ensure proper documentation is logged (invoices, monthly inventory reports from Metrc, monthly package adjustment reports from Metrc).

Ensure all waste procedures are followed to the CRA requirements.

Ensure all floor products are audited weekly for compliance, source tags / METRC tags are correct.

All floor backstock is maintained / filled in. ensure floor is neat and organized.

Inventory room / office and vault are always kept neat and organized.

Ensure scales are calibrated daily and maintained. Must train and follow scale SOP.

Opening and closing of the store.

Cash handling.

Must champion all inventory SOP's.

Work closely with General Manger on training new/ existing BOH Associates on all inventory SOP's.

Will be required to flex to different departments including but not limited to: reception, sales floor, inventory, delivery, curbside, and fulfillment.

The Experience You Bring and the Skills we Need:

  • Leadership and organizational abilities

  • Interpersonal and communication skills

  • Problem-solving attitude

  • Flexibility to work in shifts

  • 1-2 years of industry experience preferred.

  • 1-2 years of inventory or related experience

  • Experience with statewide monitoring software (METRC)

  • Must be able to run reports, cross-reference data, delegate tasks and hit strict deadlines.

  • Must have a comprehensive understanding of CCR (Certified Child Resistant) packaging and labeling requirements provided by LARA and the State in order to remain compliant as a Provisioning Center at all times.

  • Must be proficient in active/inactive packages, package consolidation, sales, manifest creation, delivery operations, and maintaining inventory labels.

  • Must have a thorough understanding of all CRA/ State of Michigan Cannabis regulations for both Medical Provisioning Centers as well as Adult-Use Retailers

  • Strong math skills

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite- especially MS Excel and Word

  • Detail-oriented

  • Able to work well both alone and with others.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand/walk for entire shift.

  • Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
