ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of payment operations professionals
  • Establish performance goals, KPIs, and accountability standards
  • Conduct hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management
  • Ensure staffing coverage for critical processing windows
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee daily payment operations across ACH, wires, cards, RTP, FedNow, and emerging payment rails
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing and settlement of transactions
  • Monitor performance against SLAs and KPIs
  • Act as escalation point for complex payment issues
  • Drive implementation of new payment products and enhancements
  • Establish and maintain financial controls supporting payment processing, settlement, and reconciliation activities.
  • Ensure reconciliation processes across payment and deposit systems
  • Develop and/or maintain operational reporting and dashboards
  • Manage settlement, clearing, and funding account activities related to payment operations.
  • Provide insights to senior leadership
  • Ensure compliance with NACHA, Reg E, AML/KYC, and payment rail standards
  • Maintain strong internal controls and operational governance
  • Support audits, regulatory examinations, and remediation activities
  • Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and fraud risks
  • Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for Payment Operations aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify emerging payment trends, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Translate business objectives into operational priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with executive leadership on long-term operational planning and scalability.
  • Lead annual operational planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
  • Evaluate new payment capabilities including RTP, FedNow, digital wallets, and embedded payments.
  • Develop business cases for automation and strategic investments.
  • Lead payment modernization initiatives and operational transformation programs.
  • Improve customer experience and reduce operational friction.
  • Partner with Finance, Treasury, Product, Risk, and Technology teams
  • Communicate operational performance and risks to stakeholders
  • Support cross-functional initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
  • ISO 20022 knowledge
  • 7-10+ years of payment or banking operations experience
  • 3-5+ years of leadership experience.
  • AAP Certification or other comparable certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of ACH, Wire, RTP/FedNow, and card payment networks.
