Job description


The Senior Operations Manager - Digital Completion Solutions (DCS) is responsible for leading and optimizing the global delivery of remote monitoring, analytics, and technical support services for NOV customers. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for one or more product lines within the DCS organization, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient service execution while driving customer satisfaction, operational excellence, business growth, and profitability.
The Senior Operations Manager collaborates closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Service Delivery, and Customer Success teams to align operational capabilities with customer requirements and business objectives. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, customer engagement skills, and the ability to drive performance across geographically distributed teams.
The Senior Operations Manager works closely with other Operations Managers and the Operations Director to align priorities, balance resources, standardize operational processes, and drive consistent execution across the broader Digital Services organization. This role serves as a key leader in developing operational strategies, sharing best practices, and ensuring organizational objectives are achieved through effective cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the DCS product organization(s) to achieve operational, financial, and customer performance objectives, including service quality, utilization, customer retention, revenue growth, and profitability.
  • Establish and execute the operational strategy for Remote Completions Monitoring, ensuring alignment with NOV Digital Services objectives and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with other Operations Managers, the Operations Director, and cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities, optimize resources, and drive organizational initiatives and operational excellence.
  • Oversee the delivery of remote monitoring, diagnostics, technical support, and performance optimization services while maintaining strong customer relationships and supporting business growth opportunities.
  • Develop and manage operational plans, budgets, forecasts, staffing strategies, and performance metrics to support scalability, efficiency, and financial objectives.
  • Monitor and improve operational performance through KPI management, process improvement initiatives, and continuous enhancement of service quality, customer satisfaction, and cost performance.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Business Development to communicate customer needs, support strategic growth, and drive product and service improvements.
  • Lead workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and performance management while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the organization has the technical expertise, training, resources, and governance necessary to support customers while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety requirements, cybersecurity standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Provide leadership reporting and recommendations regarding operational performance, customer trends, business risks, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications & Competencies
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Progressive leadership experience in operations management, technical services, remote operations, drilling technologies, digital solutions, or related industries.
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and customer-facing service organizations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of drilling operations, rig systems, remote monitoring technologies, and digital service delivery models preferred.
