Job description

Overall Purpose

This position is a new role that will support the Corporate Contracts Team within the Legal Department in the day-to-day management of contract operations and processes. The Contract Operations Manager will be tasked with driving operational excellence through process improvement, reporting and analytics, stakeholder coordination, and support of contract pipeline management.

Essential Functions

  • Provide day-to-day management of the Legal/Contracts Department processes including the management and support of the contract intake pipeline; coordinates the review, prioritization, triage, and dispensation of work across the Team in partnership with attorneys and contract administrators.

  • Responsible for driving improved operational excellence, efficiency and effectiveness of the Contracts Department function through the identification, development and administration of tools, processes, and practices to streamline and optimize workflows, reduce time to contract, and improve outcomes.

  • Support a contract lifecycle management (CLM) tool implementation leveraging experience and expertise in working across multiple systems and tools

  • Manage operational reporting for the Contracts Team including key performance indicators (KPIs), as applicable, to inform reporting and compliance across the enterprise

  • Collaborate with Sales and Partnership Teams, Product, Procurement, Third Party Risk Management, Compliance, Human Resources, and Finance with respect to cross-functional contract reviews, priorities, and strategy

  • Deliver regular reporting on status and developments related to the Contracts risk management function to senior leadership, as required

  • Manage and support the fulfillment of internal and external audit requests for the Contracts function in coordination with the Risk Management team, ensuring timely and accurate responses and deliverables.

  • Represent the contracts attorneys and contract administrators in internal stakeholder meetings across the enterprise

  • Educate and train new employees on contracting processes, policies, guidelines, playbooks, and the CLM tool/system of record.

  • Work closely with the Legal Operations and Litigation Manager to support day-to-day operations and synergies across the Legal Department and Corporate Contracts team.

  • Confirm compliance with all corporate policies and procedures, to ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, security, integrity and availability is maintained.

  • Support the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 8 or more years of related work experience in a legal or operational process management function

  • Demonstrated relevant experience.

  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability and desire to learn, adapt and succeed in new and complex roles and responsibilities

  • Proven record of success managing complex projects and processes

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.

  • Experience managing and implementing technology solutions

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to independently move projects forward by gaining support needed from others including C-Suite and Executive Leadership while working in a cross-functional role

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc.

  • Background and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Understanding of and experience working in the financial services and payments industries

  • Experience with tools such as Salesforce, DocuSign, Coupa, Fusion, Westlaw, contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms, and/or legal matter management systems.

Compensation

The base pay scale for this position in:
Phoenix, AZ in USD per year is: $104,000 - $130,000.
Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
