Pastry Prep Cook
Komodo Las Vegas, a premier Groot Hospitality venue, is seeking a Pastry Prep Cook to join our dynamic pastry team. Pastry prep cooks are essential to the smooth operation of the kitchen, laying the foundation for exceptional desserts by handling crucial day-to-day prep tasks.
This role supports the Executive Pastry Chef and team by preparing ingredients, executing basic recipes, and maintaining a clean and organized pastry station. Candidates must be detail-oriented, efficient, and passionate about pastry arts.
Weekend and holiday availability is required due to the nature of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and sanitize the pastry workstation before and after shifts
  • Follow prep lists and recipes provided by the Executive Pastry Chef
  • Scale and measure ingredients accurately for pastry production
  • Prepare pastry components including doughs, batters, fillings, glazes, and creams
  • Assist in assembling and plating desserts according to restaurant standards
  • Ensure all pastry ingredients and items are properly labeled, stored, and rotated
  • Support pastry team with finishing work on cakes, tarts, and plated desserts
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry tools, equipment, and storage areas
  • Assist with receiving pastry-related deliveries and checking quality of ingredients
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines

Requirements:
  • Previous kitchen or pastry prep experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes
