Job description

Calvary Worship Leader
Position Type: Part-Time (15 hours/week)
Location: Calvary Alliance Church
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Position Overview
At Calvary Alliance Church, our vision is to become a life-giving, transformed church of disciples who courageously raise up the next generation and ignite East Cincinnati with gospel impact.
We're looking for a Worship Leader who's passionate about helping people encounter the presence of God through authentic, Christ-centered worship. You'll have the opportunity to shape the worship culture of a growing church family and help us move toward all that God is calling us to be!
Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership:
  • Develop and implement a worship set that resonates with the congregation and helps people connect with God.
  • Engage in continuous personal and professional growth for worship ministry.
  • Model a healthy spiritual life (regular rhythms of prayer, quiet time, rest, servanthood).
  • Serve as a beacon of faith and character, helping worship team members and the congregation to live passionately for Jesus through your example.
  • Oversee the creative use of technology in services and special events to enhance worship and engagement.

Team Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and equip the worship and tech teams both musically and spiritually.
  • Identify, recruit, and develop new talent to grow a unified, passionate team.
  • Cultivate a culture of humility, creativity, and collaboration.

Church Engagement and Collaboration:
  • Partner with the Lead Pastor and staff in planning cohesive and gospel-centered services.
  • Organize rehearsals, setlists, and communication so volunteers are prepared and confident.
  • Contribute to the broader vision of Calvary's worship culture and community impact.
  • Participate in special gatherings such as Calvary's Place (biweekly outreach) and First Wednesday prayer and worship nights.

Qualifications:
  • A love for Jesus and a love for the local church.
  • Demonstrates a vital and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, is a person of prayer and the Word.
  • Strong foundation in leading with integrity, modeling Christlikeness and hospitality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to connect with diverse groups and ages.
  • Creative thinker, proactive, teachable, and humble with a visionary approach to ministry leadership.
  • Proficiency in vocals and instrument(s).
  • A team player and contributor to staff culture.
  • Working technical knowledge of ProPresenter, Planning Center, and Google tools.
  • Prior experience in leading worship in some capacity is a plus.
  • Must pursue membership at Calvary and agree to Alliance Statement of Faith.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Commitment:
  • Participation in weekly staff meetings, weekly 1:1's with Lead Pastor.
  • Aside from Sunday mornings, is willing to lead the church in worship in other related functions, such as Calvary's Place (bi-weekly Mondays in fall/spring) and First Wednesday (1x month) midweek gatherings.
  • Engage as an active member of the Calvary family beyond Sunday mornings.
