Job description

The 4.5 Ministry Coordinator is responsible for leading and developing the church's ministry to 4th and 5th grade students and their families across all campuses. This role provides vision, curriculum development, volunteer leadership, discipleship programming, and event coordination to create engaging environments where preteens can know Jesus, grow in their faith, and build meaningful relationships within the church.

This position serves as the primary leader for the 4.5 ministry at Frisco East Campus while partnering closely with Kids Pastors and ministry leaders across all campuses to ensure consistency, excellence, and spiritual impact.

Curriculum Development & Content Creation (Approximately 80% curriculum development, adjusted as needed)
  • Develop and prepare engaging, age-appropriate curriculum for 4th and 5th grade students.
  • Create lesson plans, teaching materials, small group discussion guides, and supporting resources.
  • Ensure curriculum aligns with church theology, vision, and ministry strategy.
  • Evaluate and improve curriculum effectiveness through feedback and observation.
  • Coordinate curriculum distribution and implementation across all campuses.
  • Curriculum Writing
  • Work with HK Curriculum Team to develop all programming ideas for weekend experience
  • Script writing and editing
  • Create elements not scripted, including offering, Bible lesson, memory verse, game, small group questions, activities, etc.
  • Build ProPresenter presentations for weekend services
  • Create slides and videos needed but not provided by curriculum
  • Upload ProPresenter presentations to the network for FRE, MCK, FRW, and PRO to upload.

Volunteer Recruitment & Leadership
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and develop volunteer hosts and small group leaders, primarily at the Frisco East campus.
  • Build healthy volunteer teams that create welcoming, engaging, and safe environments.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, encouragement, communication, and support to volunteers.
  • Identify and develop potential leaders within the volunteer team.
  • Maintain appropriate volunteer staffing levels for all ministry environments.
5th Grade Discipleship Leadership
  • Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of the church's 5th Grade Discipleship program.
  • Recruit, train, and equip leaders who facilitate discipleship groups.
  • Develop resources and training materials for discipleship leaders.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and make adjustments to increase spiritual engagement and growth.
Campus Partnership & Support
  • Serve as the primary 4.5 ministry resource for Kids Pastors and leaders across all campuses.
  • Provide coaching, curriculum support, volunteer development assistance, and ministry consultation as needed.
  • Visit one non-home campus each month during weekend services to build relationships, provide support, and ensure ministry alignment.
  • Foster consistent ministry experiences while allowing campuses flexibility within their unique context.
Event Planning & Execution
  • Plan, organize, and execute church-wide 4.5 ministry events in partnership with Kids Pastors.
  • Coordinate logistics, volunteer staffing, communication, programming, and follow-up.
  • Ensure events effectively engage students and families while supporting overall ministry objectives.
  • Manage event preparation timelines and collaborate with appropriate church departments.
General Staff Responsibilities
  • Participate in staff meetings, training opportunities, and church-wide initiatives.
  • Support weekend ministry environments as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with staff and volunteers.
  • Adhere to church policies, procedures, and ministry standards.
  • Contribute positively to the overall culture and mission of the church.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by ministry leadership.

Schedule:

  • Office Time: Monday through Thursday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
  • Weekends
  • 3 out of 4 weekends will be spent at FRE leading the volunteer teams. The Children's pastor at FRE will take on the planning center responsibilities.
  • Spend one weekend a month observing at other campuses and supporting the ministries as needed. Partner with the Campus Kids Pastor to equip leaders as needed.
