                    AV Sound Board and Media Lead at First Presbyterian Church of Napa

       Job Description

This hourly position is critical to the church’s central ministry function of providing a poignant, impactful worship experience every Sunday morning.  Your responsibility is to have the correct supporting audio visuals in the correct sequence to engender a seamless worship experience pulling together: the sermon, the music, the announcements and prayers, as well as all parts of the service. 


Responsibilities

  • ProPresenter 21 Management: Set up and run Sunday's presentation slides (including lyrics, scripture readings, sermon graphics, videos, etc.). Ensure all are formatted correctly and advances seamlessly during the service. Running the slides, AV equipment, mics, etc. in both services on Sunday.
  • Zoom and Livestream Hosting: When needed manage the live Zoom meeting for remote attendees. This includes starting Zoom and Livestream, monitoring audio/video quality, managing participant muting, and sharing the ProPresenter screen/audio feed to the Zoom audience. 

·       Arrive at the AV desk by 8:15 am on Sunday remaining until 12:15 pm., every Sunday.  If absence needed we need 48 hours advance notice, unless an emergency.  Worship services begin at 9:30 and 11:00 am.

o   Arrive by 8:15 am on Sunday to be ready with slides, setting out equipment, cleaning earpieces, checking T coils, connecting to zoom, monitoring sound levels and more. 

·       Attending Thursday evening praise practice (5pm to 6pm) running the AV and prepping for Sunday. Review the order of worship service/liturgy on Thursdays and pre-load available slides into ProPresenter, coordinate closely with Worship & Praise team regarding any media needs (i.e. if slides for songs are not available, individual should be able to edit or download, as needed in ProPresenter.)

·       Alerting team if content is missing, malfunction of equipment, or problematic before the service and correcting by the service if at all possible. 

Reporting Structure:

This position reports to AV Director, who reports to the Head of Staff, the Pastor, and the Worship Committee where the Chair is on Session-the church’s governing board.

Requirements:

·       Technical Familiarity: Prior experience with (or a strong willingness to master) ProPresenter and Zoom software. Knowing Windows, Canva and PowerPoint is a plus.

·       Proficient with the church’s ATEM Mini Pro Switcher and Yamaha TF3 Sound Board.

·       Review of the position’s training manual, checklist and help evolve training materials as needed.

·       Reliable and Flexible:  Role requires presence in special services during Lent - Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, etc., plus Christmas Eve, and from time-to-time funerals and weddings.

·       Attention to detail. Ability to focus and anticipate the flow of a service (e.g., matching lyric slides to the music)

·       Able to be pleasant and confident with many sources of feedback but have the ability to focus and follow AV Director’s direction.

·       A Heart to Serve: A desire to serve and enhance the worship experience through reliable technology.

·       High School graduate


Salary:

This is an hourly part-time position; hourly pay will be commensurate with experience.  Range: $20-$35/hr.  We estimate about 5 1/2 hrs per week.  If you are not available every Sunday morning please do not apply.
