Job description

The Worship Leader is a paid part-time salaried position that provides leadership, care, and preparation for the music ministry at Tarpley Baptist Church. This includes Sunday Worship, Holiday Services, and other duties as assigned.

This position requires a time commitment of approximately 10-20 hours per week. This position reports to the Pastor.

Qualities:

  • Biblical Character (Integrity, Humility, Moral Purity, Knowledgeable in the Scriptures, etc.)
  • Works well with team members, staff, and church members
  • Able to sing and play an instrument well (guitar and piano are preferred)
  • Able to use/learn ministry software such as ProPresenter or Planning Center
  • Affirms the Baptist Faith And Message 2000

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and lead the music for Sunday service.
  • Prepare and lead team members for service.
  • Identify, invite, mentor, and recruit musicians, tech team members, and vocalists.
  • Prepare/Oversee an accurate order of service for Sunday
  • Oversee the worship technology for the church (Maintenance + Improvements)
  • Participate in all lead team meetings to help develop and implement the overall direction of the church.

Resources for Your Success:

Tarpley currently has four female vocalists, one bassist, and one male vocalist who also plays guitar. We use ProPresenter for our presentation software and YouTube for our livestream. Our people respond to both hymns and modern music.
