Wedding Video information

What is a wedding videographer?

Wedding videographers are professionals who specialize in filming and editing videos that capture important moments during a wedding day. They use professional cameras, audio equipment, and editing software to create a cinematic record of the ceremony, reception, and other special events. Their goal is to preserve memories for the couple, often producing a highlight reel and a full-length video. Wedding videographers can work independently or as part of a team, and their styles and packages may vary based on client preferences.

What are some common challenges wedding videographers face on the job, and how can they be addressed?

Wedding videographers often encounter challenges such as unpredictable lighting conditions, tight schedules, and coordinating with other vendors like photographers and event planners. To address these, it's important to scout the venue in advance, carry backup equipment, and maintain clear communication with the couple and other professionals involved. Being adaptable and prepared for last-minute changes will help ensure high-quality footage and a smooth filming experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a wedding videographer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Wedding Videographer, you need expertise in video production, storytelling, and editing, often supported by a background in film, media, or communications. Proficiency with professional cameras, audio equipment, and editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro is essential. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills help capture authentic moments and work seamlessly with clients and vendors. These abilities ensure the delivery of high-quality, memorable wedding videos that meet client expectations and stand out in a competitive market.

Job description

We're a multi-brand wedding media company producing cinematic wedding films across several states, and we're looking for a skilled video editor to join us on a remote, work-from-home basis.

What You'll Do
For each wedding assigned to you, you'll deliver two edits from raw footage we provide:

  • A 3–5 minute cinematic highlight film — emotionally paced, music-driven, showcasing the best moments of the day
  • An extended edit up to 45 minutes — a fuller documentary-style cut covering the ceremony, toasts, first dances, and key events in sequence

Requirements

  • Proven experience editing wedding films or comparable event/documentary work (portfolio required — include highlight reel links with your application)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
  • Strong sense of pacing, music selection, color grading, and audio mixing (clean ceremony/toast audio is non-negotiable)
  • Reliable home workstation capable of handling 4K multicam footage
  • Ability to meet delivery deadlines and incorporate one round of client revisions per project

Details

  • Pay: $27.00/hour
  • Location: Fully remote (work from home)
  • Footage delivery: Raw files provided via Dropbox
  • Schedule: Project-based; volume varies with wedding season
