What is a part time human resource?

Part-time human resource jobs involve working fewer hours than a full-time HR role, typically ranging from 10 to 30 hours per week. These positions support HR functions such as recruiting, onboarding, payroll processing, benefits administration, and employee relations. Part-time HR professionals are often employed by small businesses, nonprofits, or organizations with limited HR needs and may assist with compliance and policy implementation. The flexibility of part-time HR roles makes them ideal for individuals seeking work-life balance or supplemental income.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time human resource professional?

To excel as a Part Time Human Resource professional, you need a solid understanding of HR principles, recruitment processes, and employee relations, often supported by a degree in human resources or related fields. Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS), payroll software, and compliance management tools is typically required. These competencies are essential for maintaining a productive workplace, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting both employee and organizational needs.

Job description

Mark III Construction is looking for a bilingual Part-Time HR & Recruiting Coordinator to support our growing Reno operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working directly with employees, candidates, and field leadership and wants to grow into a full-time HR role.

The successful candidate will serve as a local extension of Mark III's HR team, helping ensure new employees have a positive, organized, and professional experience from the time they accept an offer through their onboarding and orientation.

This position will have a strong emphasis on employee onboarding, new-hire orientation, HR administration, employee communication, and local recruiting support. The individual must be comfortable speaking in front of groups, presenting company information, interacting with field employees and leaders, and representing Mark III professionally in the Reno market.

As Mark III continues to grow in Reno, this role has the potential to expand into a full-time HR position with increased responsibility.

Who we are:

Mark III is a full-service construction company comprised of three complementary business units: M3 MEP, M3 Service, and M3 Components. We support projects from initial concept through long-term maintenance, with specialized expertise in healthcare, higher education, industrial, life science, and technology markets.

Our integrated, big-picture approach allows us to self-perform electrical, HVAC, plumbing, process piping, prefabrication, and MEP design. By consolidating these services under one organization, clients benefit from reduced profit layers, minimized scope gaps, and simplified project schedules-working with a single, accountable partner rather than multiple consultants and subcontractors.

Headquartered in Sacramento, California, Mark III operates throughout California and Nevada. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility serves as a centralized hub supporting five core trades: HVAC, mechanical piping, plumbing, electrical, and metal-stud framing. To support our continued growth, we will be relocating from our current combined 62,000 square feet of office and operational space to a new 340,000-square-foot headquarters at 2031 Optisolar Lane, with the move planned for completion by the end of Q3 2026.
