Job Summary Under general supervision, performs general administrative functions and a variety of routine to complex clerical, financial, and administrative support in human resources and general administrative functions of the organization including, but not limited to recruitment, selection, compensation, benefits, and training. The incumbent provides general information and assistance to other staff, departments, and the public. Distinguishing Characteristics This is an intermediate-level Human Resources position and provides a variety of technical level support for the organization's administrative and personnel functions.

This is a confidential position with intimate knowledge and proximity of employee pay and benefits, policies and policy development, union contract negotiations, and other management decisions affecting the personnel system. Licensing, Education, & Other Requirements Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities. A typical way to gain the required knowledge and ability is: a.

High school diploma or equivalent; and b. Three or more years of technical level human resources specialist or generalist experience; or c. Combination of experience and education.

2. Possess and maintain Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), Public Sector Human Resources Professionals (PSHRA-CP), or equivalent certification within 12 months of hire. 3.

Possess and maintain a valid Nevada Driver's License. 4. Pass a criminal background investigation.

5. Associate's Degree or higher in human resources may be preferred. 6.

Military experience applicable to the duties of this position may be preferred.
