Job Title: Research Services Entr Pro - 0.4 FTE

Position #: 00849462- Requisition #: 40147

Job Summary:

Entry Clinical Science Professionals perform clinical research related functions which may include patient- oriented research or research conducted with human subjects. Patient-oriented research includes mechanisms of human disease, therapeutic interventions, clinical trials, or development of new technologies. Entry Clinical Science Professionals may also assist with epidemiologic and behavioral studies and/or outcomes research and health services research.

Work will involve assisting with Sports medicine-related research initiatives under a provider with assistance from a research manager. It is a part-time (0.4 FTE) position that is classified in the research services professional job series. Work location will be at any of the UCHealth/CU Sports Medicine Clinics.

This position's appointment has a limited duration of one (1) year from date of hire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of all research projects including both clinical and biomechanical projects

  • Dissection/testing of cadaveric specimens for research purposes

  • Statistical analysis of data

  • Submission of protocols to the Institutional Review Board (IRB)

  • Drafting and assisting in the writing/editing of abstracts and manuscripts

  • Drafting and assisting in the writing/editing of sports medicine/orthopedic surgery book chapters and textbooks

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in the Denver, CO metropolitan area. This position may be required to work at several clinics within the Denver Metro.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field

    • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in science or health related field

  • Clinical research or related experience

  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems)

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution

  • Outstanding customer service skills

  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology

  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $19,960-$25,389 will be pro-rated to a .4 FTE
