Job description

Thispositionis exclusively open to students pursuing studies.

Location: Orlando, FL

Schedule: Part-time 32h/week

The Courseware Developer Intern contributes to the development of high quality digital learning assets supporting civil aviation training programs. Under the guidance of experienced Instructional Designers (ISDs) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), the intern assists in transforming approved storyboards, learning designs, and content blueprints into accurate, engaging, and instructionally effective courseware using established authoring tools.

This internship is designed as a hands on learning experience, emphasizing practical application, attention to detail, and adherence to defined quality and content standards. Interns will gain exposure to instructional content development processes, aviation training methodologies, and collaborative production workflows. An interest in instructional design, digital learning, or aviation training is encouraged; however, the role focuses on content development and execution rather than responsibility for overall learning architecture.

Critical responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and assembly of training assets based on approved storyboards, blueprints, and learning designs. Support the creation of learning materials such as PowerPoint presentations, basic training manuals, instructional videos, interactive learning elements, eLearning modules, and related supporting materials under guidance from Instructional Designers (ISDs) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

  • Learn to develop and format content using standard authoring tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint and other Office applications, as well as selected Adobe Creative Cloud tools and eLearning platforms (e.g., Articulate Storyline or Rise). With supervision, assist in integrating and publishing assets within approved content authoring, delivery, and content management systems.

  • Apply ISD and SMEprovided content accurately within assigned assets while following established templates and standards. Identify potential gaps, inconsistencies, or clarification needs and escalate questions appropriately. Help maintain visual, instructional, and technical consistency across courseware components.

  • Support quality assurance activities by performing basic checks for accuracy, completeness, and formatting against defined standards. Assist with functional testing of courseware (such as navigation, media playback, and basic interactivity) within authoring tools and delivery platforms, escalating issues as needed.

  • Work collaboratively with ISDs, SMEs, and other team members during structured review cycles. Incorporate feedback into assigned updates and revisions under supervision. Follow defined workflows, version control practices, and documentation guidelines, and contribute observations or suggestions to improve efficiency, templates, or reuse opportunities.
