Job description

Job Title: Substitute Teacher

Substitute Teachers are to provide care and supervision for students with the goal of impacting them &
their family for Christ.
Substitute teachers supervise the classroom and teach the lesson left by an absent teacher. The substitute teacher is responsible for the well-being and safety of the students, taking attendance, maintaining a functioning classroom, utilizing classroom management skills, leaving a clean classroom, and teaching the provided curriculum. When not subbing in a classroom, the substitute teacher will serve in study hall, lunch duty, or other duties as assigned.
This position reports directly to the Principal.
Key Responsibilities
  • Understand with complete clarity and work to uphold the mission, vision, and values of

  • Know and uphold all policies and procedures - employee, parent/student, crisis management, etc.
  • Model Christ-like character, God-dependency, and church attendance/participation for students and parents.
  • Provide proactive care/supervision of students
  • Ensure the safety and security for all students by following all school policies and best practices.
  • Report all injuries and/or serious incidents to the Divisional Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Enthusiastically engage with students during all scheduled daily activities; ensuring all safety precautions are being followed.
  • Supervise a set group of students on all trips.
  • Follow lesson plans, classroom structure, and expectations
  • Collaborate with other teachers and other staff members to ensure each student's needs are met as needed.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as directed by your divisional supervisor.
  • Provide class lesson plans as requested by the divisional supervisor.
  • Keep accurate daily classroom attendance.
  • Effectively make use of the school data system (Renweb/Brightwheel) for parents and students providing timely and consistent reporting, conduct, etc. as directed by your divisional supervisor.

Desired

  • Be at least 18 years of age.

  • Have knowledge of the Bible and the ability to lead Bible lessons.
  • Be able to communicate well to parents & other staff.
