Job description

Summary of Position

Night Auditor / Front Desk Agent responsible for overnight hotel operations, including guest check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, providing customer service, and completing daily financial audits. Ensures accuracy of reports, maintains security, and delivers professional, friendly service during overnight hours.

Front Desk Manager/Director of Front Desk

Financial & Accounting Responsibilities

  • Reconciling Accounts: Audit and balance credit card transactions, cash drawers, and department receipts.
  • Posting Charges: Add nightly room rates, taxes, and incidental charges to guest folios.
  • Running the Night Audit: Initiate the end-of-day (EOD) process on the Property Management System (PMS)
  • Generating Reports: Prepare and distribute daily financial and occupancy summaries for management.
  • Resolving Discrepancies: Investigate and fix bookkeeping errors or system discrepancies before morning.

Front Desk & Guest Services

  • Overnight Desk Operations: Process late-night check-ins, early check-outs, and walk-in reservations.
  • Guest Relations: Respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and service requests.
  • Switchboard Management: Answer overnight phone calls, route transfers, and schedule wake-up calls.
  • Concierge Services: Offer local recommendations and coordinate airport shuttle or taxi services.

Operations, Safety, & Security

  • Emergency Response: Act as the primary point of contact for safety, handling emergencies by following established protocols.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Inform housekeeping and maintenance teams about room statuses or immediate repairs.

Position Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an accounting or hospitality certificate is an asset.
  • Skills: Strong numerical skills, data entry proficiency, and detail orientation.
  • Experience: Previous hotel front desk, customer service, or basic bookkeeping experience is highly valued
  • Overnight hours 11pm-7am, weekends, and holidays
