Building material estimators are responsible for building relationships with both new and existing customer, along with outside salesman. They will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and clean and clear building estimates. They should positively represent Home Central consistent with company values. Their job will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
• Generate sales opportunities through research on client needs and industry competition.
• Generate sales through learning the features and benefits of company products.
• Coordinates purchase and delivery of special orders.
• Obtains information on pricing specifications, uses and availability.
• Conduct site visits to collect data and gather information to prepare cost estimates for various construction projects.
• Analyze blueprints, sketches, specifications, and other project materials to determine the materials and quantities required for a project.
• Create detailed cost estimates for projects including cost of materials.
• Provide cost estimates to customers for review and approval.
• Collaborate with outside salesman to ensure that cost estimates are accurate and comprehensive.
• Work with Vendors to get the best prices available.
• Maintain accurate records of all estimates and project costs.
• Stay current with industry trends and new materials available.
• Codes and inputs customers' orders, pricing information and all additional information needed.
• Creates accurate estimates, sales orders, and invoices.
• Works well with outside salesman to ensure customer satisfaction.

• Outstanding customer service skills with a professional attitude.
• Willingness to learn new products and processes to keep up with changes in the industry.
• Comfortable interacting with new and existing customers.
• Self-motivated and driven to meet goals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to review a given set of architectural and structural drawings, and able to accurately estimate the costs for the various materials needed to complete the job.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
