Job description

Position Summary

Harrison County Hospital is hiring a Ward Clerk/Tech in the Emergency Department for full-time evening shifts (12 pm–12 am) with every other weekend. This role supports safe, timely ED flow by serving as the unit’s central communication and documentation resource while also assisting with assigned patient-care tasks.
Key responsibilities include receptionist and ward clerk coverage, multi-line phone communication, order entry and other computer-based documentation, and routine clerical work (fax/copy). As trained/assigned, you will assist with patient care such as obtaining vital signs; cardiac monitoring is recommended.
Required qualifications/skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- CNA certification, EMT training, or equivalent nursing education (e.g., completion of first year ASN or second year BSN)
- Medical terminology proficiency
- Strong computer skills, including order entry
- Dysrhythmia class completion with a score of 85% or greater (within 3 months)
