Job description

Rightpoint, a Genpact (NYSE: G) company, is where human experience and advanced technology solutions converge to create transformative business outcomes. As a digital experience agency and technology powerhouse, we specialize in translating user insights into scalable, platform-driven solutions. In partnership with leading technology providers, we help organizations accelerate growth through platform innovation and experience-led transformation.
Our Commitment to You
No matter who you are, where you come from, who you love, what you believe, or what you get excited about, we bring people together to make phenomenal work. That's what makes us Rightpoint!

WhatYou’llBe Doing and the Impact You’ll Make:

As a Lead Optimizely Developer in our Digital Operations (DigOps) Development practice, you’ll take charge of designing and delivering Optimizely-based solutions across Content Cloud (CMS) and Commerce Cloud, along with their surrounding integrations.  This role remains hands-on – you’ll still write code for critical components – but with a stronger focus on system-level architecture, team leadership, and ensuring that our projects meet both technical and business objectives. You will delegate implementation details to your team while owning the high-level design and overall system quality.
In this role, you will:
  • Architect and design scalable solutions: Lead the technical design of Optimizely CMS/Commerce implementations, defining architecture patterns and integration approaches that are secure, performant, and maintainable. You’ll make key design decisions (data models, API contracts, deployment topology) and ensure the solution aligns with clients’ business goals and can scale for future needs
  • Stay hands-on with development: Balance high-level design with hands-on coding by building critical components and prototypes to set coding standards and solve complex problems. While you won’t code every feature, you will establish the technical baseline – writing foundational modules, exploring new Optimizely capabilities (such as GraphQL APIs or personalization features), and guiding the team’s implementation through example and code reviews
  • Lead and mentor a distributed team: Provide delivery leadership for a mixed onshore/offshore development team, coordinating work across time zones and ensuring everyone is aligned. You’ll mentor junior and mid-level developers through pair programming, code reviews, and coaching, fostering a culture of engineering excellence. By delegating tasks effectively and offering guidance, you’ll elevate the team’s capabilities and maintain a high standard of quality across the codebase
  • Own planning and delivery in an Agile environment: Take an active role in project planning and estimation oversight. Work with project managers and business analysts to break down complex requirements into implementable chunks, estimate effort for new initiatives, and anticipate risks or dependencies. You’ll lead technical discussions in Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) and ensure the team’s commitments are realistic and delivered on schedule. Your oversight will keep projects on track and instill confidence in both the team and the client regarding our delivery plan
  • Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams: Serve as a key technical liaison for clients – engaging in discovery sessions, capturing technical requirements, and translating business needs into Optimizely solutions. You’ll work closely with designers, UX strategists, QA engineers, and project managers to shape end-to-end solutions that are user-friendly and meet acceptance criteria. By communicating clearly (in non-technical terms when needed), you will build trust with stakeholders, ensuring that technical decisions reflect the client’s priorities and that any trade-offs are well understood
  • Champion best practices and modern approaches: Drive the adoption of modern development practices such as API-first designs, headless architecture, and MACH principles (Microservices, API-first, Cloud, Headless). You’ll implement and advocate for DevOps and CI/CD best practices – from automated builds and deployments to infrastructure-as-code – to improve reliability and speed. Additionally, you will enforce coding standards, performance optimization, security guidelines, and accessibility compliance, ensuring that every solution we deliver is of the highest quality and ready for cloud deployment (leveraging Optimizely DXP on Azure or similar platforms)
  • Drive innovation and practice growth: Beyond project work, contribute to Rightpoint’s internal initiatives and the growth of our Optimizely practice. This could mean creating reusable libraries or accelerators, improving our development processes, evaluating new Optimizely features (SaaS offerings, personalization, Experimentation, CMP, ODP, etc.), or sharing knowledge through brown-bags and mentorship. You’ll also lend your expertise to business development efforts by assisting in technical estimations for proposals, demoing solutions or proofs-of-concept to prospective clients and identifying opportunities to expand our work. Your leadership in these areas will help shape our practice’s direction and amplify our reputation as Optimizely experts.

What We’d LovetoSee:

  • Extensive .NET development experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience building modern web applications with C# and .NET (ASP.NET MVC and/or .NET Core/5/6). You have a deep understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering best practices (SOLID principles, design patterns) and a track record of delivering robust, maintainable code in production
  • Optimizely expertise: Proven experience delivering Optimizely Content Cloud (CMS) and Optimizely Commerce Cloud solutions. You have designed content models, page templates, and commerce workflows, and you know how to extend Optimizely via its APIs and customization hooks. Experience with the latest Optimizely stack (Optimizely CMS 12+, Commerce on .NET 5+, GraphQL content APIs, etc.) is highly valued. Ideally, you’ve led or played a senior role in multiple Optimizely implementation projects, demonstrating a deep knowledge of the platform’s capabilities
  • Technical leadership in an Agile environment: Prior experience as a tech lead or senior developer on enterprise projects. You’ve guided teams (including offshore developers) in delivering complex features, conducted code reviews, and made architecture decisions. You are comfortable leading stand-ups or technical discussions, coordinating work in tools like Azure DevOps or JIRA, and ensuring Agile practices are followed for efficient collaboration and delivery
  • Strong architecture and system design skills: Ability to architect scalable, modular systems and integrate multiple components or services. You’re familiar with modern CMS architecture patterns (e.g. headless CMS, content APIs, microservices) and can design solutions that balance flexibility, performance, and security. Knowledge of MACH architecture principles and composable DXP approaches (using APIs and cloud-native services) is a big plus – you think beyond monolithic designs and embrace modular, future-ready architectures
  • Cloud and DevOps proficiency: Experience deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment. You understand how to work with Optimizely DXP (Azure PaaS) hosting and can configure build/deployment pipelines for CI/CD. Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices – such as Git version control, automated testing, Docker/Kubernetes, and monitoring/logging in production – is important. You ensure that development and deployment processes are efficient and that the infrastructure can support scaling and high availability
  • Consultative communication and collaboration: Excellent communication skills with an ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and to listen and incorporate feedback. You have experience working directly with clients or business stakeholders in a consultative role, translating their needs into technical solutions. You also thrive in cross-functional teams – collaborating with designers, product managers, and QA – and contribute to a positive team environment where everyone is aligned and informed
  • Problem-solving and growth mindset: A self-driven, proactive attitude towards solving technical challenges. You can troubleshoot complex issues across the full stack (frontend, backend, integration points) and are not afraid to dive into new technologies or unfamiliar code. You continuously seek to improve – whether optimizing an existing process, learning a new Optimizely feature, or adopting an emerging best practice – and you inspire the same curiosity and adaptability in your team.

Nice to Haves

  • Certifications: Active Optimizely (Episerver, Content Cloud or Commerce certifications, and/or Microsoft Azure certifications. These demonstrate your commitment to mastering the platform
  • Optimizely Suite Experience: Hands-on experience with other parts of the Optimizely ecosystem, such as Optimizely Commerce, Content Recommendations, Optimizely Data Platform (CDP), Optimizely Web Experimentation (A/B testing), Feature Experimentation, or Optimizely Welcome (CMP). Experience implementing personalization via Optimizely Visitor Groups or similar is also beneficial
  • Headless CMS & Composable Architecture: Experience building headless content-driven applications (using Optimizely or other headless CMS like Sitecore, Contentful, Contentstack, etc.), and familiarity with composable architectures integrating multiple SaaS services
  • Modern Front-End Frameworks: Exposure to building front ends with frameworks like React, Next.js, Angular, or Vue especially in conjunction with a headless CMS or eCommerce backend
  • Industry & Domain Knowledge: Understanding of digital marketing concepts, eCommerce, or specific industries our clients operate in. This can help in crafting more effective solutions and spotting additional opportunities
  • Previous Consulting/Agency Experience: Background working in consulting, digital agency, or client-facing technical roles. This typically means you’re adaptable, used to juggling multiple projects, and skilled at translating client needs into technical action plans.
