Job description

Join our dynamic team as a Sales Executive for Western Canada, and become a trusted partner reporting to the VP, Sales. In this hybrid role, you will help grow sales across Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan by promoting Crawford's services, developing new business opportunities, and strengthening relationships with existing clients.

In this role, you will:

  • Focus on identifying and targeting new prospective clientsย 

  • ย Expand service offerings with current clients by understanding their programs, and challenges to ensure our clients team have the support they need to be successful

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, brokers, and self-insured organizations across Western Canada.

  • Develop and present client proposals, executive presentations, and service recommendations.

  • Host client events and promote Crawford's service offerings to support continued market presence and growth.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, communications, or a related field.

  • Five or more years of experience in one or more of the following areas:ย 

    • Insurance industry with carriers, brokers, or self-insured organizations.

    • Professional services sales experience, such as consulting, legal, tax, or specialty services.

    • Account executive experience supporting national and/or global insurance companies.

  • Proven business development and/or client relationship management skills.

  • Consultative sales skills along with being a strategic and analytical thinker.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to develop key client relationships.

  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Familiar with or ability to learn Salesforce, Copilot, Teams and SharePoint.ย 

  • Ability to drive and access to a vehicle to visit client locations.

  • Ability to travel to other cities and provinces up to 30% of the time.

Develop and implement the Western Canada sales plan

  • Primary focus is to identify new prospects and opportunitiesย 

  • Build and maintain key relationships with existing clients while expanding services.

  • Plan and lead localized client events across the west that promote Crawford's services and support market growth.

Client relationships

  • Build new client relationships and maintain ongoing relationships with carriers, brokers, and self-insured organizations across Western Canada.

  • Meet regularly with prospects and existing clients to ensure Crawford remains top of mind.

Sales pipeline development and execution

  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records for Western Canada accounts, contacts, clients, and opportunities, including key deal details and outcomes.

  • Prepare and deliver client proposals and presentations that support sales pipeline development and execution.

Pursuit leadership

  • Develop customized client proposals and presentations.

  • Lead the development of client agreements or statements of work for approval by the VP, Sales Canada, and legal review.

Market intelligence

  • Monitor competitor and industry activity and market trends across Western Canada.

  • Share market intelligence with the Sales and Marketing team.

Marketing and market presence across Western Canada

  • Support market presence through client events, sales activities, industry conferences, associations, and social media engagement.

  • Coordinate client meetings and track success through attendee engagement, leads, opportunities, and revenue sold.

Align sales with operations

  • Partner with Western Canada and national operations leaders to align capacity with client commitments.

  • Serve as a key client contact for opportunities and concerns while supporting marketing, account management, and operations teams.

Administration and reporting

  • Record client meetings in Salesforce and maintain accurate time and expense reporting.

  • Prepare bi-weekly Western Canada sales updates for the VP, Sales Canada, including pipeline activity, wins, and top opportunities.
