Head of Course Development amp; Operations
360training is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Course Development amp; Operations to lead and scale a high-performing content and course operations organization. This leader will oversee multiple functional teams responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of 360 courses, including content creation, instructional design, course development, quality assurance, digital production, and course lifecycle operations.
The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in instructional design and learning technologies with strong operational leadership skills. This role requires someone who can drive innovation through AI-enabled content development, modern authoring technologies, and scalable workflows while managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership amp; Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers overseeing:
  • Writing amp; Editorial (QC)
  • Course Development Project Management
  • Quality Assurance
  • Digital Course / Media Development
  • Course Operations amp; LCMS Administration
  • Establish departmental goals, KPIs, and operational standards aligned with organizational objectives for quarterly executive presentation.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build scalable processes to support growth in course production and delivery.
Learning Content amp; Development Strategy
  • Define and execute a modern L amp;D content strategy across digital learning products.
  • Oversee the design, development, review, and maintenance of online training courses and learning assets.
  • Ensure instructional quality, consistency, accessibility, and compliance standards are met across all content.
  • Drive adoption of emerging learning technologies and AI-assisted content workflows.
Technology amp; Innovation
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of course authoring and learning technologies.
  • Champion the use of AI tools to accelerate content generation, quality assurance, media production, assessment creation, and workflow automation.
  • Partner with technical teams to improve integrations between LCMS, LMS, authoring tools, and operational systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies that improve efficiency, learner engagement, and scalability.
Course Operations amp; Delivery
  • Oversee course publishing, version control, retirement, and dispatch processes for B2B customers.
  • Ensure operational excellence within LCMS administration and content deployment workflows.
  • Develop governance standards for content lifecycle management and release management.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams to support enterprise learning delivery needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Product, Compliance, Technology, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to align learning initiatives with business priorities.
  • Manage vendor relationships and external development partners when needed.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on production metrics, operational efficiency, and strategic initiatives.
Required Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Learning amp; Development, instructional design, eLearning, or training operations.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing cross-functional L amp;D teams.
  • Strong technical expertise with modern course authoring and learning technologies, as well as integrations such as AICC, XAPI, and SCORM dispatch.
  • Proven experience managing digital course production at scale.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools for content generation, media creation, workflow automation, or instructional design enhancement.
  • Experience overseeing learning operations, LCMS/LMS administration, and course deployment processes.
Technical Skills
  • Deep familiarity with eLearning authoring tools such as:

  • Experience with:
  • LCMS/LMS platforms
  • SCORM/xAPI/AICC standards
