Job Title:People Operations Associate

Location:Reston, VA (Hybrid)


About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused People Operations Associate to join BSI's People Operations team.

In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality, standardised HR services within a shared services environment, helping ensure employees and managers receive timely, accurate support across a range of people processes.

You will support activities including onboarding, employee data management, payroll administration, HR documentation, and responding to employee queries, while ensuring compliance with established processes, SLAs, and employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer HR services in line with established processes, service standards, and SLAs.
  • Process employee lifecycle transactions including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding activities.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation within HR systems.
  • Respond to employee and manager queries via shared inboxes, ticketing systems, or HR platforms.
  • Prepare and validate payroll inputs, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Provide first-line support on routine HR policies, processes, and benefits queries, escalating more complex matters where appropriate.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities with internal stakeholders such as IT and Payroll.
  • Support administration of local benefits programmes where applicable.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within People Operations, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and employee experience.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to support a seamless HR service experience.
  • Provide administrative support for HR projects and operational initiatives as required.

What we're looking for

Essential

  • 1-3 years of HR administration or similar administrative experience (including internships).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume administrative tasks.

  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment.

  • Good technical aptitude and willingness to learn HR systems and tools.

  • Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Business English proficiency.

Highly desirable

  • Experience working with HR systems, ticketing tools, or workflow platforms.

  • Exposure to onboarding, payroll administration, or HR shared services environments.

  • HR qualification or studies.

  • Experience supporting HR operations within an international or matrix organisation.
