Job description

The Operations Assistant duties include, but are not limited to overseeing quality, recruitment, training, equipment maintenance, safety, and day-to-day operations under the guidance of the General Manager. The GM may assign other duties as required. The compensation range for this position is $19-$22 per hour depending on experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Register shipments
  • Provide quality service to walk-in customers and on the phone
  • Fax, copy and scan paperwork
  • Communicate with moving crews
  • Perform general housekeeping duties
  • Filing and organizing paperwork
  • Bill shipments in company software
  • Other duties as assigned by GM

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to solve problems quickly and effectively
  • Knowledge of logistics and transportation industry preferred
  • Interpersonal communication
  • Ability to multitask
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

Required Education and Experience:

Required: High School diploma or GED

  • Preferred: Previous logistics and transportation experience

Working Conditions:

  • Mainly indoors, working outdoors is sometimes required
  • Sitting down for long periods at a time while indoors
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs is sometimes required
