Job description

What sets us apart are two things: our buy and hold strategy, and our company's autonomous management.

  1. Unlike typical Private Equity investments with a three-to-five-year liquidation strategy, we buy businesses and invest in them for the long-term. We believe in the value of our acquisitions and want to grow.
  2. We bought our companies because they already had success in the marketplace. Instead of asking them to conform to a unified platform, we allow companies to keep their team, culture and branding in place.

We made our first acquisition at the beginning of 2018. Today, we hold a controlling stake in110+companies across the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. Our companies employ over3,000 team members, each led bytheirown managementteam, andprovideworld-class support to over 12,000clients.

Operating Executive - Role Overview:

Lyra Technology Group is seeking an Operating Executive who is ready to step into a leadership position and drive organic EBITDA growth and recurring revenue at a small operating company. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on environment, makes smart trade-off decisions between growth and profitability, and inspires high-performing teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to hit financial targets, monitor performance, and make disciplined, ROI-driven decisions.
  • Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies, client relationship management, and building a high-performing sales and marketing team.
  • Recruit, develop, and motivate a results-oriented team. Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Streamline processes, ensure compliance, and maintain a strong focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Ground priorities and growth initiatives in data, tracking key metrics across new customers, retention, pricing, and cross-sell/upsell.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (MBA a plus)
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency across IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, help desk operations, AI solutions, and/or cybersecurity, with the ability to evaluate and oversee the work of a technical team and provide hands-on support when operational needs demand it.
  • Background in people management including hiring, development, and performance management.
  • Experience in IT services (ideally an MSP) servicing SMB clients.
  • Resourceful, scrappy, and willing to roll up sleeves on both strategic and day-to-day challenges.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

You will also have the opportunity to work closely with, learn from, and share perspectives with a community of peer executives across our portfolio. This group includes ambitious first-time senior leaders, entrepreneurs who have built companies over decades, and seasoned operators with deep industry and functional expertise.

The base compensation for this role is targeted at $175,000 and will include annual bonus and long-term incentives.
