Learning Experience Designer (Remote)

Full-time, United States

The Learning Experience Designer is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, evaluating, and maintaining comprehensive learning solutions in support of internal programs, projects, and initiatives.


Development efforts include traditional and online learning strategies. Collaboration and consulting will occur with subject matter experts and stakeholders to determine and propose performance improvement solutions, including learning or other activities, to support the performance gap.


As a Learning Experience Designer, you will

  • Design and develop innovative solutions for instructor-led (in person or via web) and online courses. These solutions may include job aids, online references, facilitator guides, facilitator presentations, participant workbooks, and eLearning
  • Conduct evaluations to determine the effectiveness of the learning solution
  • Collect training needs and objectives from business units for identified knowledge or skill gap
  • Incorporate concepts, navigational elements, and interactive capabilities of course authoring tools used for learning solutions
  • Learn and continue to expand personal knowledge of BCD Travel and industry tools, systems, processes, and procedures and can effectively develop courses on these topics
  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc project reviews with project team, sponsors, and clients
  • Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions, meetings and other events
  • Deploy training on an as-needed basis via traditional and/or virtual classroom
  • Analyze and recommend learning solutions to support the needs of the business
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously

About you

  • Prior experience in the travel industry or learning and development field
  • Previous experience in a learning and development role within an organization
  • Knowledge of travel agency operations, the travel industry, and account management
  • Previous experience with the development and facilitation of instructional materials
  • Proven ability to create materials suited for a variety of delivery methods (instructor-led, web-based, and e-learning)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, PPT, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated expertise and application of eLearning authoring software (e.g. Adobe Captivate)
  • Availability to work North America business hours
