Job description

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for aRelief Fryer/Peeler Operatorto join our team of manufacturing professionals inHanover, PAon our new Weekend Night Shift.

As aRelief Fryer/Peeler Operatorthis candidate will be responsiblefor removing waste from the conveyor belt that holds peeled potatoes and will also cut oversized potatoes and spots from all potatoes. This position works Friday to Sunday5:25PM-5:55AM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspects peeled potatoes and trims defects to control quality of raw potato input to fryer.
  • Operates potato chip fryer in relief of regular operator, including preparation for start-up and shut down.
  • Carries out all necessary daily and weekly sanitation procedures for either peeler or frying area
  • Changes and sets blades.
  • Performs all necessary duties to prepare peeler/slicer or frying system for production start-up.
  • Operates peeler/slicer system to maintain sufficient supply of properly peeled and sliced raw potatoes for fryer operation.
  • Reports all quality or mechanical problems to the supervisor.
  • Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
  • Works in a safe manner at all times and communicates any safety issues to supervisor.
  • Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
