Job description

At Utz Quality Foods, we're launching a brand-new, state-of-the-art logistics facility in Gastonia, NC, and we're looking for skilled Forklift Operators to join our team. This hands-on role will involve receiving shipping manifest and pulls product in proper rotation order while maximizing cube of trailer.

Schedule:Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Loads trailers with finished product for distribution centers, bins and distributors.
  • Reads load sheets to determine quantity of each product that needs loaded to destinations.
  • Unloads inbound trailers with purchased products and puts into inventory.
  • Operates forklift when loading and unloading.
  • Operates stand up fork lift when loading and unloading.
  • Maintains integrity of rows and stands of product when pulling or adding to inventory.
  • Stacks empty pallets and places on conveyor or in a trailer.
  • Loads and unloads conveyor as required per warehouse and operates scanning devices.
  • Assures proper code rotation.
  • Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.

Requirements:

  • Works with management and fellow associates to ensure Food Safety programs are followed.
  • Reports food, office or operational safety problems to a supervisor or manager for initiating action
  • Performs other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of the company and department objectives.
  • Requires basic math and reading skills.
  • Knowledge of types and locations of products and truck loading procedures acquired through on the job training.
  • Requires forklift operator's license.
  • Required to wear non-slip shoes and appropriate personal protective equipment
