Brandywine Counseling is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Receptionist for our Georgetown location!

We enhance the quality of life by creatively providing Education, Advocacy, Prevention, Early Intervention, and Treatment Services. We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV and multiple occurring diagnoses, and their related challenges.


What You'll Do as a Behavioral Health Receptionist with us:

  • General clerical duties
  • Check and prepared reminder calls or correspondences for clients 
  • Assure that the telephone is answered in a timely manner and all messages are relayed to the appropriate department or person
  • File all and retrieves all documentation needed to stay in compliance with DE state and federal regulations. Obtain necessary client information to meet current federal guidelines and insurance use guidelines for electronic medical records.
  • Obtain client demographic information and verify insurance information at each visit
  • Scan pertinent client information into the EMR system including client authorizations, recent labs that were delivered, etc.
  • Collect co-payments including cash, checks, and credit cards. 
  • Enter visit charges into the EMR system per doctor's coding on scheduler
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and input recall notices 
  • Ensure the patient has the necessary paperwork and insurance documentation for their intake
  • Identify and resolve minor client billing complaints
  • Maintain cleanliness of the waiting area and assure the site brochures and other marketing materials are visible to clients
  • Type correspondence and reports for staff
  • Request medical charts from hospitals and other medical centers
  • Maintain monthly list of admissions and discharges
  • Obtain information sheet on new clients and prepare charts including initiating new charts or retrieving existing charts

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have the ability to work well either alone or as part of a team.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with people of a variety of backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management and organization.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

  • REQUIRED: High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • PREFERRED: Associate degree
  • REQUIRED: 1 year in office environment, 3 years related experience, some knowledge of treatment for substance use disorder/Mental Health Disorder.
  • PREFERRED: Bilingual with fluency in reading/writing in Spanish

Schedule:

  • Monday - Thursday
  • 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Pay:

  • Starting at $17/hour.
  • Commensurate with experience and education!
