MEDICAL RECORDS FILING CLERK

Western NC Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We are committed to caring for our patients with purpose and integrity and providing our team members with the support they need.
The Medical Records Filing Clerk organizes, maintains, and retrieves patient health information, ensuring accuracy and security in compliance with privacy regulations. They scan, index, file, and update paper and electronic health records (EHR), supporting healthcare staff by ensuring records are accessible for treatment and billing.
If you are organized, detail-oriented, and good at time management, this could be a great position for you! We are seeking a full-time Medical Records Filing Clerk to join our growing team. This position is based at the
Minnie Jones Health Center
257 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.
Key skills:
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks with attention to detail.
  • Compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and employer policies ensuring patient confidentiality
  • Interacts in a friendly, professional manner with a wide range of staff, physicians, and public.
  • Demonstrated competence with incoming correspondence, ability to consistently manage and respond to incoming phone calls, emails, and EHR messages in a timely and professional manner.

Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar medical office role is often preferred.
  • Adept at utilizing technology.
  • Previous experience navigating electronic health records.
  • Experience with Epic (EHR), highly desired.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification

Certification(s)/Licensure:
  • Current, unencumbered Driver's License
