Position Overview
The Office of Fiscal Services is seeking to hire an Office Associate for the Central Overpayment - Account Support Unit. This position performs difficult and responsible data entry and clerical functions; exercises independent judgment; performs data entry of Grant/ SNAP overpayment referrals and enters changes into the Accounts Receivable System (ARS); enters additions/changes on the Illinois Disqualified Recipient System (DRS); reviews returned notices and system produced reports for corrections and demographic information and prepares items for data entry; screens and directs telephone inquiries pertaining to collection activity to staff; and performs data entry into personal computer utilizing a large variety of software programs.
Essential Functions
  • Receives, organizes, and reviews Overpayment Referrals from Local/Central Office staff to ascertain if data elements are present.
  • Performs a variety of clerical functions including preparation of tracking jackets.
  • Receives, sorts, opens, date stamps, and reviews incoming mail and returned notices.
  • Performs data entry to add and change client information on the Illinois Disqualified Recipient System, which is incorporated into the National System in order that States access, exchange, and track information nationwide relative to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Disqualifications.
  • Performs data entry of information on special projects and major collection initiatives into a variety of software programs utilizing a personal computer.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
  • Requires two (2) years office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm.

Work Hours: 8:30 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday
