About Vista Medical Center:

Vista Medical Center is a community-focused hospital committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients throughout Waukegan and the surrounding areas. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Emergency Department (ED) Nurse Manager to lead our fast-paced, high-acuity Emergency Department.

Position Summary:

The ED Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily operations, supervision, and coordination of all clinical activities within the Emergency Department. This leadership role works closely with staff, physicians, and hospital administration to ensure quality patient care, staff development, regulatory compliance, and departmental efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to nursing and support staff in the Emergency Department.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and best practices.

  • Foster a patient-centered care environment that emphasizes safety, compassion, and efficiency.

  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and performance evaluations of ED personnel.

  • Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and participate in strategic planning for the ED.

  • Serve as a mentor and resource for clinical staff; promote professional development and education.

Qualifications

  • Current Illinois RN license (required).
