The Oblate Madonna Residence is seeking candidates for the following employment opportunities:

Position Title: Clinical Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Status: On-Site, Non-Exempt/ Full-time, San Antonio, TX

Summary of Description

The Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality nursing care to elderly residents in a retirement home environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations, coordinating resident care, and supervising LVNs and CNAs to ensure compliance with facility standards. The RN plays a key leadership role in promoting resident safety, dignity, and optimal health outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct nursing care, conduct assessments, and monitor resident conditions.
  2. Develop and update individualized care plans.
  3. Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
  4. Respond to emergencies and acute resident needs.
  5. Supervise LVNs and CNAs, provide guidance, and review documentation.
  6. Maintain accurate nursing records and follow regulatory standards.
  7. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  8. Assists Nursing Manager with quality improvement process.
  9. Provide remote after-hour support for LVNs and CNAs.
  10. Assist with staff scheduling and coverage.
  11. Learn and assist with nursing manager duties.
  12. Must agree to remain on property during their own paid meal breaks.
  13. Must agree to perform work during their own paid meal breaks, as needed.
  14. Must maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned by Nursing Manager.

Education and Experience

  • Two years' clinical experience required as an RN.
  • Long-term care or geriatric experience preferred.
  • Staffing and 24-hour scheduling experience are preferred.
  • Process improvement experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Wound care assessment and treatment experience preferred.
  • Triage experience preferred.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Active unrestricted Texas RN License.
  • CPR/BLS Certification.
  • Strong leadership and assessment skills.
  • Effective time management and scheduling skills.

Work Hours

40 hours per week
